We had been working hard on building a high quality leather chisel since the first day we established WUTA. Our chisels were sent to different leather craft studios to be tested by various craft masters. Mostly we received positive feedback. After overcoming all these difficulty, our original design chisel now officially presents in the peoples' eyes.

Type: Obverse and reverse direction

Chisels are with obverse prongs (hole direction: ////, stitching trace direction: \\\\ ) or reverse prongs hole direction: \\\\, stitching trace direction: ////).

This is to meet the higher need in punching and stitching. Furthermore, with this two kinds of direction you can punch hole on both sides of thick leather.

Size: 2.7/3.0/3.38/3.85mm, 1/2/5/8 prongs available

1 prongs-S: fit for Model 9 /10.both obverse direction and reverse direction are common.

1 prongs-M: fit for Model 7/ 8 .both obverse direction and reverse direction are common.

1. Hammer tools: please use nylon hammer, hold near the hammer head for easy force.To extend the serve life of French style chisel, We don't recommend to punch more than 4mm thick leather directly.

2. Punching table recommendations: Because the sharp and thin tip, please don't overexert when punch, please use a soft things like leather to protect it. It is recommended to use 4-5cm thick marble tabletop, and WUTA thickened cutting mat, which is quiet and stable, effectively improves the accuracy of punching and protects the chisel teeth, and is not disturbed by the elasticity of the desktop and the hollow feeling of rubber board. It maybe damage if you use on the hard object such as hard PVC board, especially in winter.

3.Since the French style pricking iron is a professional tool with "V" taper teeth, that means each teeth are wide at the top and narrow at the bottom, although 2 teeth and 8 teeth width are the same, the force applied will also affect the size of the hole. Since the leather cut by the 2-teeth is smaller, it is sharper, so please control the force to be smaller when use 2 teeth. Otherwise, the 2-teeth will be easy to make a deeper, and large holes. So if the first time use this professional tool, please control the strength and practice more, then you could make even holes.

4. Use and maintenance: After each use, please clean the teeth and handle, especially for users with heavy hand sweat, to keep the tool in good condition. If not used for a long time or in the rainy season, please wipe the anti-rust oil with cotton cloth and seal it in a Ziplock bag for storage.
